Accommodations

The primary plenary, technical and business meeting sessions will be hosted by the University of the West Indies at the Learning Resource Center in St. Augustine, Trinidad. Shuttle services will be provided to and from some hotels as indicated below at the beginning and end of each day.

At this point in time no primary conference hotel has been designated. The conference Gala Banquet on Thursday evening will occur at the Hilton. The closest major hotel to campus is the Holiday Inn Express Suites in Trincity, a new business hotel which has just completed construction. Bus pick-ups will be made each morning along a route that includes the indicated hotels below but not necessarily at every lobby door. Bus shuttles drop off similarly at the end of each day or after social events. Students staying in student accommodations near campus won't need transport except to the Wednesday and Thursday evening social events.

Hotel reservations should be made directly with the hotels of your choice at the following web sites or phone numbers. The rates as shown are as found on the web well in advance of the conference and are subject to change. Make your room reservations as early as possible! Prices shown below will increase typically as the date of the conference approaches and rooms fill. Due to very high occupancy rates in Trinidad, no substantial group discounts have been acquired so far. If they become available, they will be indicated as such on this page.

The maximum per diem amount for lodging for Port of Spain published by the U.S. State Department currently is U.S. $156. One U.S. dollar equals approximately 6.3 Trinidad and Tobago dollars.

** Double occupancy is typically available at the same room rate at three and four star hotels. Suites are available in many hotels and some hotels may have rooms available at less than the standard rate.
