Call for GSDI-10 Workshops and Tutorials

GSDI-10 invites proposals for workshops and extended tutorials to be offered on Monday 25 February 2008 and potentially Saturday 1 March 2008. All workshops and tutorials will be open to all GSDI 10 conference attendees at no additional cost. See the conference Program Overview.

Each workshop or tutorial may be proposed for either a single or two 90-minute sessions. The shorter 90-minute sessions are preferred. A typical conference participant may register for up to four 90-minute workshops or tutorials during the workshop day. A half-hour coffee break will occur in the middle of the morning and in the middle of the afternoon with a lunch break at mid-day. Some workshops may be invited to be offered twice during the day to avoid conflicts with other popular concurrent workshops.

Facilities for Workshops

All workshop rooms have tables for participants where they may place laptop computers and all rooms are provided with standard computer projectors. Wireless computer access is available but with large numbers of users do not count on connections being efficient. Backup exercises or materials on CDs are highly advisable. Four full modern computer labs seating up to 60 people are available for some workshop offerings if needed or desired. Standard software is available in most of the labs. Specialty software may be loaded on the computer systems prior to the workshop if shipped to arrive at least two weeks in advance.
