Auction
We will host a silent auction to raise money for the GSDI Developing Nation Fund as part
of our social events held in conjunction with the Conference. This fund is used to
support human resource development in developing nations through ways such as covering
travel expenses of representatives from national organizations of developing countries
to attend important conferences and workshops.
Please consider bringing an item representative of your nation or region to donate to
the auction. Items may include books, rugs, handicrafts, shawls, jewelry, carvings,
baskets, hats, pottery, pillows, artwork, musical instruments, software, hardware,
training, an invitation to stay at a vacation house for a period of time, etc. Feel
free to use your imagination!
Donated items will be exhibited during the conference. Each item will have a Silent
Auction Bid Page, so that people may place their bids on the displayed items throughout
the week. The highest written bid on each sheet as of Thursday 21 October 2010, at the
end of the afternoon coffee break, wins the right to take the item home. A few selected
items will be kept aside and sold through a live auction at the Gala Dinner on Thursday evening.
Please contribute, bid and have fun! Support the global community of SDI specialists in
this charitable move and make a difference in the lives of many in need!
