OF CHILE (IGM)
A state organisation constituting the
official authority of the nation on matters
related to cartography, the representation
of Chilean territory, geography and associated
issues. It is one of the leading proponents
and official member of the Chilean NSDI,
known as the National Territorial Information
System (SNIT in Spanish initials)
The IGM stands out among its peers for
the high level of knowledge and professionalism
of its personnel, the quality of its products
y services, the high percentage of the
country covered by its regular cartography
and its ongoing public contribution to
the sciences by organizing seminars and
conferences at both national and international
levels.

GLOBAL GEO-SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURE
(GSDI)

Is
an inclusive organization of organizations,
agencies, firms, and individuals from
around the world. The purpose of the organization
is to promote international cooperation
and collaboration in support of local,
national and international spatial data
infrastructure developments that will
allow nations to better address social,
economic, and environmental issues of
pressing importance.
The mission of the GSDI Association is
to:

serve as a point of contact and
effective voice for those in the global
community involved in developing, implementing
and advancing spatial data infrastructure
concepts,
· foster spatial
data infrastructures that support sustainable
social, economic, and environmental systems
integrated from local to global scales,
and
· promote the informed
and responsible use of geographic information
and spatial technologies for the benefit
of society
