During the ISPRS Council Meeting in Melbourne, Australia (22-26 August 2011), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the GSDI Association and the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

The MoU was signed by Prof Orhan Altan, the ISPRS President, and I, as GSDI President and on the 26^th of August 2011 during the ISPRS Council Meeting. The purpose of this MoU is for better Collaboration and future activities and to provide a framework for a continuing liaison between the two organisations. This will be achieved by maintaining and increasing the opportunities of scientific, technical, professional, as well as academic and educational exchange between committees and members. This will be achieved through a continuing program of cooperation leading to mutual sharing of knowledge and expertise to the advantage of both organisations.
