This is an official call for papers for the peer-reviewed academic track of Geomatics Indaba 2015.

The GEOSS Architecture Implementation Pilot - AIP-8 Call for Participation

This Call for Participation (CFP) seeks organizations to participate in the 8th Phase of the GEOSS Architecture Implementation Pilot (AIP-8). AIP develops and pilots new process and infrastructure components for the GCI and the broader GEOSS architecture. The main aims of AIP are to reach consensus on Interoperability Arrangements and to register operational components and services that carry forward into persistent operations of GEOSS.

OGC requests scenarios for Crisis Management ICT Workshop by 15 February

The OGC and Fraunhofer IOSB have organized the Geospatial ICT Support for Crisis Management and Response workshop at ISCRAM 2015. The workshop organizers invite participation and they invite participants to submit crisis scenario descriptions. These will be used to demonstrate the effectiveness of existing international geospatial data encoding and service standards.

URISA Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Awards Submissions

URISA is pleased to announce the Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Awards process for 2015. Since 1980, URISA's ESIG Awards have recognized extraordinary achievements in the use of geospatial information technology that have improved the delivery and quality of government services. The award competition is open to all public agencies at the federal, state/provincial, regional and local levels.

Ideas wanted for RDA Geospatial IG participation in IMY

We need your ideas on how we can enable Research Data Alliance Geospatial IG's participation for the International Map Year (IMY). The International Map Year activities is led by the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and supported by the United Nations and will be celebrated worldwide with the aim to provide opportunities to demonstrate, follow, and get involved in the art, science and technology of making and using maps and geographic information.

First meeting of the UN-GGIM for the Arab States - 24-25 February

The first formal meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) for the Arab States will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 24-25 February 2015. The meeting is organized by the United Nations Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), in collaboration with the General Commission for Survey of Saudi Arabia.
