OGC helps develop UN’s geospatial standards guide for UN Member States

In August at the Fourth Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), the Committee called for the adoption of common standards so that geospatial data can be seamlessly shared and used around the world. The Committee recognized the important work done by three international standards development organisations: the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), Technical Committee 211 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 211) and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).

ISO/TC 211 Plenary and WG meeting November 2014

The ISO/TC 211 Plenary and WG (http://www.isotc211.org/) meeting during November 2014 will include the Standards in Action workshop (26 November 2014). This workshop provides an opportunity to present and showcase case studies, implementations and research to wider audience. We invite government, industry and academia to submit abstracts for this great event.

The deadline for submission is 31 October 2014.
